Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 2:14

Memory Verse: Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV)

1. Count your many blessings: Stop looking at all your struggles and take a look around to find the positive things in your life no matter how small. Whether it is your good friends, a house over your head, or a spouse that is there to love you, we all have blessings that we sometimes overlook while we focus on just the dark spot in our lives. Are you grateful to God for seeing today which is the last day of the second quarter of Year 2021?

2. Spend the day with someone special: Sometimes, it takes only a day to turn your week around. Make a commitment to stay in touch with the people and family members who truly care about you. Remember, the Holy Spirit remains that special friend amidst many friends who is ever standing by, and who will never betray you. However, avoid sin partners and people who make you feel lesser than you are.

3. Do something nice to others: Do something nice for someone else. Not only will it give you a little boost of good feeling, but it will also help you brighten someone else’s day. It’s a Win-win!

4. Have a goal: It is hard to feel unhappy or discouraged when you have your eyes set on the prize. Instead of sitting around ruminating on something that happened in the past, set a new goal for yourself and work each day to achieve it.

5. Change one small thing each day: Sometimes we try too hard to change ourselves. We end up failing because we are creatures of habit, and it becomes too hard to change. Make a commitment to change one small thing about yourself and your situation every day; just one percent change. You will find out that every day you wake up, you wake up as a different person. It won’t happen overnight, but if you make continual and constant small changes, they add up to happiness.

6. Figure out what your purpose is: Feeling sorry for yourself sometimes stems from not really understanding what you are living for. If you have an understanding of the meaning and purpose of your life, then you will see all the ups and downs you will ever go through as a necessary component of success. That makes it easier to accept and to find the silver lining lurking in every seemingly negative situation.

7. Forgive yourself, your past, and leave it there: Sometimes we feel sorry for ourselves because we can’t forgive others who wronged us, or even forgive ourselves. You must forgive to move forward. Let the past remain in the past.

Quote: Wise people do not focus on the dark spots of their lives.
Prophetic Decree: Receive a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus

  1. Thank you Way Maker for all that You do.
  2. I come against every enemy of my peace, in Jesus name.
  3. Open my eyes O God to great and mighty things in my life which money cannot buy, in Jesus name.
  4. I bind and cast out the spirit of heaviness, in the name of Jesus.
  5. I receive a garment of praise and thanksgiving, in Jesus name.
