DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post August

Wednesday, 3rd August, 2016.

Scripture Reading: John 14: 15-18.

Memory verse for the week:   John 14:26

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (KJV)

The Holy Spirit is a member of the three God-head. He is the 3rd member of the God-Head. He is the 3rd member of the Trinity. By the Trinity, we mean God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. 1 John 5:7. They are 3 persons in 1 and 1 person in three individuals. They are three unique persons working as one and one person working in three different ways. This is a mystery! The Holy Spirit could also be called Holy Ghost. The Holy Spirit is a Person and not a force, as some people say.

Teenagers, the Old Testament is filled with the activities of God the Father relating with Man. Early in the New Testament, God the Son, in the person of Jesus came to redeem Man back to God. John 10:10b. Jesus died,  resurrected and ascended back to heaven. Today, God the Holy Spirit is the Power of God on earth. John 14:16

When you accept and confess Jesus as your personal Lord and saviour, then a measure of the Holy Spirit begins to dwell in you. Nevertheless, you must thirst for His fullness which happens at the point of baptism. This is called Holy Ghost Baptism. This experience usually comes with the evidence of speaking in a new tongue. This is not the same as water baptism.

SYMBOLS REPRESENTING THE HOLY SPIRIT:  Dove (Mark 1:10), Fire(Acts 2:3), Water (Mat 3:11), Oil(Acts 10:38), Wind(Acts 2:2), Seal and Voice.

ACTION WORD:       THE HOLY SPRIT IS A PERSON.

PRAYER POINT:

  1. Holy Spirit, come and be my friend, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Holy Spirit, breathe upon my life today, in the name of Jesus.
