Memory Verse:So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalm 90:12

Nigeria gained full Independence on October 1, 1960. Celebrating Nigeria’s independence has since being an annual National celebration. In all, God has been faithful to us as a nation.

We are all tempted to think if there’s any reason to celebrate despite the numerous challenges facing us as a nation. Have you ever thought of this: If the devil has succeeded in tearing this nation apart in regional and ethnic war, where would you and your family had gone to? Seeking refuge in another country confined in a refugee camp at the expense of your host nation with little or no assess to medical facilities, good food, clothing and shelter? Let me submit to you: There’s no place like your home country.

Don’t be dismayed. Hold unto God. You’re not living by the dictates of your prevailing situations but by the dictates of Heaven. In the midst of famine, Isaac sowed in the land and reaped a hundred fold (Genesis 26:12).

Collectively, let’s raise our voice for the prosperity of this nation. May God guide our leaders right.

Key point: Focus on what God has done for us as a nation as we trust Him to do more.

Prayer points

1. Evil altars speaking woe against this nation, catch fire, in the name of Jesus.

2. Demonic covenants and curses dragging Nigeria to the dunghill, be broken by the Blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

3. Power of peace and progress, unity and patriotism, reign in this nation, in the name of Jesus.

4. O Lord, guide our leaders right, in the name of Jesus.
