Bible Reading:     Colossians 4:6, Psalm 147:3

Memory verse:   Don’t use anyfoul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. Ephesians 4:29 (NLT)

Let me pose a question to you. How can anyone know that you are a Christian without an introduction? I believe it’s simply in your words and comportment (general behaviour). You see, O bride of Christ, the New life we carry when we got born again, has a peculiar fragrance and aura attached to it.

I have heard a lot of students use awful words such as “waka”, “your mama…”, “dem no born you well” , “u dey craze?” etc. These and many others are filthy (dirty) words which must not be named amongst us.

Our words must be seasoned with grace and salt, able to build, uplift, encourage and bind up as the situation demands. We should not curse or speak idle words (Mat. 12:36). Have you suddenly forgotten again that you were bought with a price? A price? Yes, a price! The price is the precious Blood of Jesus. Have you forgotten in a jiffy that you are now an ambassador of Christ? (An ambassador represents the interest of his country in another country). You are an ambassador of heaven! You represent Christ and should show forth the way of life of heaven on earth!!

Friends, you nail Jesus on the Cross again when you speak those filthy words? You should emit the aura of your new found life. Proclaim the message of the heavenly Kingdom as Christ’s ambassador. Stop that foul, vulgar language and slangs. May the Holy Spirit nudge you to do just that. Amen.

Key point:       I Am Christ Ambassador On Earth.

Prayer points:

  1. Holy Spirit, I have come again this hour, deliver my lips from strange words, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Power of transformation, fall upon my heart, in the name of Jesus.
