Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 5:8-10.
Memory verse for the week: Lev. 6:13
‘And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings.’ (NKJV)
Gone are the days when the devil is typified as a dark, scary man wearing a black/red cloth, having a horn on his head. These days, the devil has gone P.L.C.!!!! He’s got in his newly equipped arsenal of destiny destruction more cryptic tools and weapons especially for children, teenagers and youth; the glory of future generation.
One of such destructive weapon is the bad use of technological advancement. Cable channels, internet, radio stations, electronic video games, etc, are not bad in themselves provided they are used under caution. For example, the internet provides access to information around the world at a singular click! Nevertheless, pornographic sites on this same internet have destroyed many teenagers exposing them to various foul spirit and bad sexual orientation. A survey once said that 75% of teenagers with phones having internet access watch pornographic sites anytime from 9-10pm, sometimes into the wee hours of the night.
The time wasted on social platforms chatting and jesting calls for serious check. Chunks of demonic video games are placed on the internet, downloaded for free. My heart bleeds for this generation!
Listen… you are what you make out of your life! You’ve got the power of choice. Browse the internet for information that will enrich your career and walk with God. Follow men that will inspire you on social platforms such as twitter e.g. Dr Ben Carson. ‘Like’ the pages of great minds on your facebook account. Stop that unhealthy jest in those chat rooms of yours. When time counts, life counts! Eccl 3:1
A word is enough for the wise…
ACTION WORD: USE THE INTERNET WISELY.
PRAYER POINT:
- I shall not destroy myself, in the name of Jesus.
- Holy Spirit, deliver me from the numerous temptations the world brings my way, in the name of Jesus.
