WHAT IS SERVANT LEADERSHIP? (2)

WHAT IS SERVANT LEADERSHIP? (2)

DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post December

Wednesday, 7th December, 2016.

Bible reading:  Mark 10:42-45.

Memory Verse: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45(NKJV)

Servant leadership provides an opportunity to serve, and influence positively the lives of those being led. It is an opportunity to initiate a positive change in the spiritual, mental, financial, and physical status of those being led. A servant leader knows that he’s only a caretaker. Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit is the real leader. Servant leadership particularly points to this: “You are to serve and not to be served”.

It takes great humility and brokenness to be a servant leader who lives for others. The joy of being a vessel of positive change to those you’re called to lead cannot be quantified. Stop lording over those whom you have been called to serve. Rather, serve them as you see them grow daily into the fullness of the Christ. Are you a servant leader?

Key Point:        You must be crucified (die to self) before you can become a servant leader.

Prayer Point:

  1. Holy Spirit, work in me the heart of servant, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Holy Spirit, help me to be like Jesus in all that I do, in Jesus name.

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (2)

One of the greatest dangers in the life of a believer is not the sins everyone can see, but the ones that hide quietly in the heart. These sins rarely attract attention, yet they slowly drain spiritual strength and weaken a man’s destiny. Hebrews 12:1 says, “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles”...
