THE ROLE OF A PROPHET IN YOUR LIFE

THE ROLE OF A PROPHET IN YOUR LIFE

DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post February

Tuesday, 28th February, 2017.

Bible reading: Hos. 12:13, Mic. 6:1-4

Memory Verse: For I brought you up from the land of Egypt, I redeemed you from the house of bondage; And I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. Micah 6:1-4(NKJV).

  1. A prophet brings the Word of God to God’s people and calls people to respond.
  2. A prophet admonishes, warns, directs, encourages, intercedes, teaches and counsels the people of God.
  3. A prophet is part of the five-fold ministry (Eph. 4:11-12).
  4. A prophet directs and guides.
  5. A prophet is the eye of the church.
  6. Without a prophet, the church is blind. As an eye, a prophet explains the plan and purpose of God and tells people what God will do in the future (Amos 3:7).
  7. A prophet turns people from their evil ways back to God that they might be saved (John 1:23).

However, there must be distinction between one who speaks out under the unction by the gift of prophecy (1 Cor.12:10) and one who is a Prophet. As the name depicts, the gift of Prophecy is one of the gifts the Holy Spirit gives to a believer as He desires while a Prophet is one of the five-fold ministry of the New Testament according to Eph. 4:11-12 and 1 Cor. 12:28.

Quote: Prophets Are Eyes of the Church. The Church is blind without a Prophet.

Prophetic Word: The Spirit of the Prophets shall fall upon you mightily, in Jesus name.

Prayer Points:

  1. My Father, take me deeper in the prophetic, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Holy Spirit, baptize me with the Spirit of prophesy, in Jesus name.
