DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post July

Sun July 2, 2017

Bible Reading:               1 John 2:15-17 (TLB)

Memory Verse:     Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15

Lust is often confused with love. Lust is purely a physical attraction and has no lasting effect. The root of lust is self, while the root of love is God, for God is love. Lust seeks immediate gratification of her feelings while love seeks to please Jesus Christ, the Author and the Finisher of our faith.

Are you lusting or loving? Why are you so emotionally attached to that boy or girl when you are meant to concentrate on your academics? His or her image keeps flashing in your mind. May I inform you that you’re only being infatuated. Consider your ways and repent. Get your priorities right today.

Quote:                 The spirit of lust is the spirit of the end time. Desist from it.

Prophetic Word:   May every negative image of sex the devil is painting in your heart, catch fire, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

  1. Father, I repent of every sin of lust, fornication and illicit sex, in Jesus name.
  • I break off from the yoke of lust and worldliness, in Jesus name.
  • Holy Spirit, empower my inner man to fight against the world and its affection, in Jesus name.
  • Whoredom spirit creating lust in my life, die, in Jesus name.
  • Works of darkness promoting iniquity in my life, die, in Jesus name.
