Bible Reading: John 10:14, 27-28

Memory Verse:  I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:11

The primary way by which God speaks is through the Bible. The Bible was written by approximately 40 anointed authors over a period of 1,600 years for over 40 generations. The Bible was written first, in three basic languages of Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic. The Bible was written in different places such as wilderness, dungeon, palace, prison, exile, home etc. It was written in different times of war, peace, poverty, prosperity, freedom and slavery. The Bible was written by men from all occupations such as Kings, Peasants, Doctors, fishermen, Tax collectors, Scholars, etc., on three continents of Europe, Asia and Africa.

God cannot contradict His Word. Any other means by which God speaks such as the inner witness, dreams, trance, visions, prophesy, audible voice, circumstances, etc., must be subjected to what the Bible says. The Word of God is ever consistent. It is written through the inspiration of the Spirit of God by God’s anointed servants for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness (2 Tim.3:16). Men who read the Word of God understand the mind of God. It is the river of life i.e. it refreshes the soul. The Bible is full of inspiration and revelation. It is the oldest Book containing the latest News. The Bible is new every morning.

However, our attitude to the Word of God will determine how much of the Word becomes live to us. The Bible is best read in an atmosphere that is serene such as the early hours of the day during your quiet time. It should be read prayerfully, slowly and meditatively. It is not a novel or a newspaper. It is the Word of life capable of healing and deliverance. As you open the Scriptures, may the scripts of your future become living pictures in your mind in Jesus name.
