Bible Reading: Luke 12:27-32
Memory Verse: I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time. Ecclesiastes 9:11 (NLT)
While some react to events others control events. While some wait for an outcome, others control the outcome. Those who take action after an event had occurred are said to be reactionary while those who take action before an event ever take place are said to be proactive. Recently, someone sounded a very loud warning to one of the most powerful nations in the world. He warned them if they are not proactive putting definite structures in place, they may experience another terrorist attack.
Many times as an individual and as a nation we allow things to go wrong before profering solutions. This is not meant to be so. Our God is a God of foresight. He is the Alpha and Omega. He knows the end from the beginning and nothing catches Him by surprise. He always puts definite structures in place to prevent any eventuality. Are you a student? What structures are you putting in place to avert failure in your exams? Examination shouldn’t knock on your door unprepared. What are your plans and targets for the coming year? Have you got a reading time table which you follow religiously? Brother, now that you are through with your NYSC programme, why are you stranded. Do you think with all your prayers and fasting, life will answer automatically to you? You may be sincere but wrong. The future must be physically and spiritually prepared for. Are you employable? With your second class upper or lower as the case may be, that is not an automatic entry into a multinational company. What added skill do you have? Can you use any software in your chosen field in this digital world? Common beloved, do not be naive! Act proactively.
