Bible Reading:  Psalm 113: 5-9

Memory VerseHe lifts the poor from the dust. He lifts the needy from a garbage heap. Psalm 113:7 (GWT)

Oladimeji Shotunde, 22-year old is from a very humble background. His father is a roadside mechanic and his mother a pepper seller. He emerged the best graduating student of Lagos State University (LASU), in Nigeria with a CGPA of 4.95 from the department of Business studies. He was awarded a sum of five million by the Lagos State Government amongst other benefits.

How did He achieve this great academic feat?

1. He understood himself e.g. he doesn’t read in the school library, and doesn’t read more than 1 hour per time.

2. He founded Excel Minds Academic Group where he provides free academic services like tutorials, training, mock exams, and conferences. You gain better understanding when you teach others what you know.

3. He worked intelligently. Oladimeji said, “When you’re brilliant, it implies you know everything about something. But intelligence implies your ability to know something about everything. And if you really want to thrive in the contemporary world of today, there’s a need for you to develop intelligence as opposed to brilliance.”

4. He lived a relatively balanced life on campus. Beyond academia, He led social impact campaigns, held leadership positions and chaired committees. “I came to understand that books don’t solve it all. There’s a need to have a combination of social and academic life. When you do, it makes you exceptional.”

5. Parental blessings: Even as an undergraduate student, he still helped his mum to grind pepper before going to school. He washed her grinding machine every morning till he graduated. There were times he went to his daddy’s carwash to work just to raise money for the family.

Quote: The pathway of humility is the surest pathway to secure your place in destiny.

Prophetic Decree: You will defeat every family limitations, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Father for your love and goodness, in Jesus name

2. I receive power for dumbfounding success, in Jesus name.

3. O Lord, empower me to disappoint the expectations of the limitations in my upbringing, in Jesus name.

4. I receive all-round intelligence to maximize destiny, in Jesus name.

5. O Lord, you are the lifter of my head, lift me up, in Jesus name.
