Bible Reading: Eph. 6:10-18
Memory Verse: For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows
to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. Galatians 6:8 (NKJV)
Have you wondered what could have happened to Joseph that made him resist the
persistent temptation of Mrs Potiphar? Mrs Potiphar gave him an opportunity to sleep
with her free of charge and he vehemently rejected her persistent sexual advances. Not
all open doors are Divine door. Many young folks would have grasped this sinful
opportunity forgetting it was a trap of the devil to prevent him from reaching the palace
through the corridor of prison. Yes, Joseph entered the palace through the corridor of
prison. Any temptation you conquer brings you closer to your Promised Land. A carnal
man will see that has an opportunity of a life time and an access into the secret riches of
the house of Potiphar. Joseph was a crucified young man. He was dead to self. He no
longer lived for himself. He is living ONLY to the glory of God. Read Galatians 2:20 now!
You cannot continue to listen to carnal music and your flesh will be crucified. It is food
for Mr Flesh. You cannot continue to watch pornography and die to Mr Flesh. It will
further arouse the appetite of your Adamic nature. You do not read your Bible, you
hardly go for mid-week Bible study, and you are care free about actively serving the Lord
in your local assembly. Then, how do you expect to grow in the Lord and in the power of
His might. It is what you behold you become! The cattle of Laban that saw the stained
rod gave birth to calves with stripes. Similarly, if you invest in spiritual things, you
become spiritual and if you invest in carnal things you become carnal. Temptations do
not give a prior notice. They come in moment when you are most vulnerable. It is who
you have become in your spirit that will determine if you will fall or not. Receive grace
to overcome temptations poised to destroy your destiny in Jesus name.
