Bible Reading: 2 Kings 22: 8-20
Memory Verse: But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives
grace to the humble.” James 4:6 (NKJV)

2 Kings 22:18-19 says “But as for the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the LORD,
in this manner you shall speak to him, ‘Thus says the LORD God of Israel: “Concerning
the words which you have heard “because your heart was tender, and you humbled
yourself before the LORD when you heard what I spoke against this place and against
its inhabitants, that they would become a desolation and a curse, and you tore your
clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you,” says the LORD.

Josiah became the youngest king of Judah and the youngest king on record in the Bible
at the tender age of eight and he went ahead to fulfill the prophesy of God for his life in
grand style. A Prophet prophesied 300 years before he was born that he will destroy the
altar of Baal (1 Kings 13:1-3). In his 18th year of reign as king (when he was 26 yrs old),
he got to know about the prophesy and went all out to fulfill it. Our life is an “empty set”
if we do not work accordingly to what God has written concerning us. Do you know what
you are destined to accomplish on earth?
The secret of King Josiah’s success is not far fetched. He humbled himself and submitted
to the mentorship of godly priest and prophet. There was no king before and after Josiah
who sought the Lord the way he did with the whole of his heart (2 Kings 23:25).
Your Prophet could be your parents. Your prophet could be your Sunday school teacher.
Your prophet could be your born again teacher or your campus president or your Pastor.

May you locate him or her and may you be humble to receive all that he has for you
wholeheartedly.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Leviticus 19 – 21
Quote: Humility to learn and to serve surely preserves destiny
Prophetic Decree: Receive a broken and contrite spirit today, in Jesus name.

  2. Spirit of humility come into my heart today, in Jesus name.
  3. Spirit of humility overwhelm my spirit, in Jesus name.
  4. Spirit of humility choke my inner man in Jesus name.
  5. O God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, bring me in contact with my Prophet in the name
    of Jesus.
