Bible Reading:  Romans 6: 1-14

Memory Verse: In the same way, you must think of yourselves as dead to the power of sin. But Christ Jesus has given life to you, and you live for God. Romans 6:11 (CEV)

Important Facts About Your Flesh Include:

1. When we talk about the flesh, we mean the carnal desires of man as listed out in Galatians 5: 19-21.

2. The flesh is a condemned criminal. It can’t repent.

3. The Cross of Jesus is the burial ground of all the works of the flesh.

4. It is possible to be a Christian and yet manifest various works of the flesh such as adultery, pornography, masturbation, lying, backbiting, talkativeness, etc. Only your spirit got born again, not your mind, not your body. Consequently, it is your personal responsibility to renew your mind (Romans 12:2), and daily crucify your flesh (1 Cor. 15: 31) through the Word of God and prayer.

5. Crucifixion of your flesh is your personal duty. You must actively participate in it. You must DAILY surrender yourself at the feet of the Cross of Jesus for a spiritual heart surgery with Doctor Jesus.

6. As long as we are in this world, we shall continue to battle against the flesh (Gal. 5:17). However, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2).

7. “Flesh is spiritual paralysis. If you kill flesh, God begins to respond His all unto you” – Apostle Michael Orokpo.

Quote:  The believer caught between the flesh and Spirit is also caught between death and life. That is what happens when God intervenes in a human life. That intervention does not necessarily bring tranquility. Infact, it is more likely to bring tension and conflict. It is the life surrendered to the flesh which lacks inner conflict, for the decline through sin to death can be so easy. It is when the Spirit enters a life to contest the sway of sin and counter the weakness of the flesh that conflict ensues. The presence of moral conflict is a sign of the Spirit presence, not the Spirit’s absence – James D.G. Dunn.

Prophetic Decree: Enter into your liberty bought by the Blood of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Holy Spirit, please help me to reckon myself dead to sin.

2. I break every foundational hold of sin in my life, in Jesus name.

3. Ancestral ladder of  sin, self and worldliness in my life, break and scatter, in Jesus name.

4. With the horse wipe of the Holy Ghost, I flog every weakness in my life away, in Jesus name.

5. Blood of Jesus purge my blood, in Jesus name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:  2 Kings 18:1-8; 2 Chronicles 29-31; Psalm 48
