A WORD OF ADVICE FOR CHILDREN, TEENAGERS AND YOUNG ADULTS

Bible Reading:  Ecclesiastes 12:1, John 9:4, Psalm 199:9

Memory Verse: It is good for a man that he should bear The yoke [of godly discipline] in his youth. Lamentations 3:27 (AMP)

Victor Agbafe, the young man on the quest to becoming a medical doctor and a lawyer, both at the same said, “I will advise other first-and-second-generation students to know that the sky is just the beginning. You mustn’t limit yourself and you must be willing to take advantage of all the opportunities available to you, not only to better yourself, but to enable yourself with the tools to give back to your family, community and the greater world around you. Also, don’t forget your root and what makes you unique as it is part of what inextricably defines who you are. He also said, “Life is a roller coaster ride, and if you keep trudging forward and putting forth your best effort, things are going to end up the way they should.” Agbafe further said, “Always stay positive, stay focused, stay humble, stay hungry — those are the keys to success.”

What he has further learnt:

Being the son of immigrants, first of all, taught me the great value of education and how much all the components of education are to be respected and adored. When I visit my grandmother she always emphasize on the great value of education and how it should give someone something positive to take pride in. When I was in fifth grade, I remember her saying “You see your textbook and your backpack, that should be the only type of love or girlfriend you should have apart from that which you have for your mother.” So, as a child of immigrants, I really respect the great value of education and all of the opportunities it can create.
