Bible Reading: Proverbs 13:30, Proverbs 4:23

Memory VerseGuard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life. Proverbs 4:23 (CSB)

Saul was never a Prophet. He was called to the office of a king and not a prophet. One day, he walked into the company of prophets, and suddenly, he began to prophesy. What happened? Environment. The spiritual environment he found himself was charged with the spirit of prophecy such that it overwhelmed his heart and provoke his mouth to prophecy. From this graphic illustration as exemplified in the scriptures, we can infer that the environment you find yourself could compel you to behave or act in a certain way beyond the control of your will power.

The power of environment also features in friendship. The day you change your cycle of friends, your deliverance starts. Relocate away from that bad friend and you are one step away from the compelling power of that bad addiction such as smoking, weeding, pornography, etc. If a C-grade student walks with an A-grade student, he will surely be provoked unto becoming better and getting better grades. Proverbs 13:30 (HCSB), “The one who walks with the wise will become wise, but a companion of fools will suffer harm.” Destiny cannot be separated from the environment it has been conditioned to thrive.

Have you wondered why you began to mime or sing a song you consciously did not learn? It’s simple! You were exposed to an environment and by “electromagnetic induction”, just like a camera captures a scene by a flash, your subconscious mind registered the song. Indeed, we are fearfully and wonderfully made. No wonder the scriptures says we should guard our heart with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23). The environment you find yourself can impart on you unconsciously even when you didn’t bargain for it. This is one simple but powerful principle in life.

Quote: If you don’t choose your friends, your friends will choose you.

Prophetic Decree: I detach your star from any negative influence, in Jesus name.
