Bible Reading: Philippians 3: 13-14

Memory Verse Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead. Philippians 3:13 (ESV)

Khabane Lame is a 22-year old. He is the world most followed TikToker, who, as at September 2022 had over 149.5 million followers on TikTok.  He earns about $750,000 for each TikTok post. That’s amazing, isn’t it? You will think he should just fold his hands and enjoy his fortune. No he didn’t. Guess what he is doing? Self development to become more relevant and of course richer. He has his eyes set on the Hollywood someday. As a result, he is working hard on his spoken English.

You will never rule out the place of personal self development in climbing higher grounds. Some people are still using the same old rusty certificate since 1980 when they graduated with no additional training. The last time others read a book was the last day they sat for examination in college. I once shared with you of a man who in pursuance of the most prestigious position in his office in few years time deliberately enrolled for his PhD.

Excuse me Pastor, except God has confined you to ministry, there is nothing bad adding to your secular skills and training. You will make a better impact when you speak the language of professionals to professionals, the language of artisans to artisans, the language of teenagers to teenagers, etc. Keep developing yourself.  A renown basketballer wakes up 2am for training. Muhammad Ali in his days starts counting how many press ups he does only when he gets tired because in his words, “that is when it really matters”.

Cristiano Ronaldo like David Beckham in his days trains exceptionally above his contemporaries. Gifts or Talents without consistent training and personal development will only earn you mediocrity. Where are the Christians in sports, education, politics, ministry, entertainment, etc? Stretch yourself. Go beyond your limits. Keep adding value to yourself. Keep feeding the giant in you. Surround yourself with good role models. Set a high value for yourself. Keep training and re-training.

Christianity is never a signature to an average life. Jesus was renown yet humble. Jesus was on the top in his field yet was morally and spiritual upright ND fervent. Receive a correct re-orientation in your mind that will set you apart in your chosen field in Jesus mighty name.

Quote: The swiftest way to triple your success is to double your investment in personal development – Robin Sharma

Prophetic Decree:  Break away from the inertia called complacency, in Jesus mighty name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Father because there is no limit in You.

2. Holy Spirit, please help me to see greater version of me, in Jesus name.

3. I receive grace to press forward, to go deeper, and to aim higher, in Jesus name.

4. Obstacles on my way to progress, scatter by thunder, in Jesus name.

5. Today, by the reason of covenant of service, I secure the investment of the Spirit of grace and progress in my affairs, in Jesus mighty name.
