At Moroko in Lagos State, Nigeria many years ago, there lived an evil priest who had four wives. One day, a lady named Christiana whose parents had gone everywhere in search of healing to her incurable madness came to him. The priest said he will only cure this young lady on one condition – she must become his fifth wife. Her parents who were desperate for her healing quickly obliqued. Many years later after her healing, a fire brand church came nearby to the priest house and Christiana began to attend. She soon became born again and started hot midnight prayers.
The charms the priest prepares for his clients was no longer effective. The priest consulted his oracle and found out that Christiana was the cause of his woes. The Ark of God and Dagon cannot stand face to face. When an higher power comes to the scene, a lesser power must, as a matter of necessity bow. The devil is not the opposite of God. He that is above is above all. Soon, the priest had to let Christiana go. That is what God’s power can do when provoked on the altar of prayers.
Friend, what is the problem that is making you go helter-skelter? What is that problem in your family, in your business, or in the life of your children that is giving you sleepless nights? Come boldly to the throne of grace today. The only true solution is Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Other gods may seem to solve your problem only to give you a bigger problem. The devil has no free gift. God’s power is supreme.
Christiana’s parents sold out her destiny when in search of solution to her madness. She inadvertently became a lawful captive in the hands of the devil. But the Scripture remains true, ‘Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captives delivered? But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children” (Isaiah 49:24-25). Perhaps you are also suffering from age-long problems that can be traced to your ancestry, medical conditions that defies drugs, or curses and covenants that are transgenerational. Are you suffering from losses or shame? Jesus is your only sure bet. God’s power is alive.

Prayer Focus
1. My Father, arise, manifest your power in my situation, in Jesus name.
2. Any problem in my life making me run helter-skelter for solution, I confront you with the power of God today, in Jesus name.
3. The power of God that cannot be challenged, overshadow my destiny today, in Jesus name.
4. Ancestral curses and covenants from my roots, be broken by the Blood of the lamb, in Jesus name.
5. Jesus, thou son of David, deliver me from the Pharaoh embarrassing my life, in Jesus name.
