Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 16: 14-23

Memory VerseLet everything that breathes sing praises to the LORD! Praise the LORD! Psalm 150:6 (NLT)

Music is food for the soul. Music is life. With music, you can unnerve, relax, and enjoy yourself. Howbeit, not all music is good music.

It is wisdom to compare the lyrics of the music you’re listening to with what the Word of God says. It is wisdom to discern the spirit behind every music. In today’s world, even the so-called Christian music must be censored by the Holy Spirit within you, else you become a carrier of two incompatible spirit, after the order of king Saul. There are many ‘gospel entertainers’ these days, singing primarily for material gain and not to glorify Jesus. From the life of king Saul, we learnt that a vessel can house demons, and at the same time operate under the spirit of God at different times.

Categorically, talking about worldly music, an ex-satanist said, “We make music for a purpose. Be careful of what you listen to. By actively listening to it, you are participating in a satanic ritual”. This satanist was raised within the Church of Satan, and came to international prominence early in life as the organization’s first spokesperson, defending the satanic church during the 1980s. She resigned her position in 1990, severed ties with her father, and renounced Satanism.

Are you aware that some dance steps to some musicals are not ordinary? It was sponsored from the marine world to pollute the lives of her hearers. Little wonder it dominated the entire media space as soon as it was released. Are you aware that there is a cabal that determines the music that will top the various music chats? The price to be paid is to sell your soul to the devil.

This cabal in return gives the musician fame and fortune, but in return, control their lives – who to marry, where to go, what to wear, etc. Are you aware that the original album of some musicians were first dedicated in the marine world before sale? Why do you think her hearers feel sexually stimulated afterwards? Friends, there are people who have indeed sold their souls to the devil for material gain.

Dear reader, ask yourself the following questions: What type of music are you listening to? Who sang it? What are its lyrics? Who is the spirit behind it? What does it teach you? Who does it glorify – God, devil, self, your body, sex, or sin? Does its musical video bring glory to God or convey carnality?

When a music comes from God, it flows back to God when sang. That is why you feel like praying, reading your Bible, worshipping for hours under that atmosphere; whilst you experience divine encounters, healing, and various miracles. Similarly, when a music comes from Satan, you feel sensual, erotic, rage, revengeful and abnormal.  It tampers with your spiritual and emotional state negatively. Be careful of the music you listen to.

QuoteThere is no music that is neutral – it is either divine, demonic or carnal.

Prophetic Decree: Henceforth, your mouth shall sing only Jesus’ praises, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Lord, I repent of any music I have listened to that doesn’t give you praise.

2. I laminate my eyes with the Blood of Jesus.

3. I receive grace and discipline to listen to songs that edify only my spirit, in Jesus name.

4. We scatter the plan of the devil and his cabal to pollute the mind of men with erotic music, in Jesus name.

5. I receive grace to consecrate my ear gate, eye gate, nose gate, and mouth gate, in Jesus name.
