Bible Reading: Hebrews 4:12, Colossians 3:16

Memory Verse: And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit2 Corinthians 3:18 (AMP)

Why Must I Go Back to The Word of God?

1. The Word of God is transformational (2 Cor. 3:18): The Word of God is the Mirror. When you look at it, you will be like it. When a believer beholds or looks at the Word, they begin to become what the Word shows. So, looking at the Word transforms your identity (not just your situation). You may not have money in your pocket but you need to see yourself live in wealth from the mirror of the Word of God. You are not poor. You are a work in progress.

2. The Word is the foundation for faith and action (Romans 10:17):  Faith arises from the Word of God. Faith is not just believing. Faith is believing in the Word of God (Heb. 11:1). The strength of faith is in what God said, not what you wish. The more you hear the messages of faith, the more faith is birthed in you. Hear the Word + Believe the Word + Acting on the Word = Faith.

3. The Word of God is powerful and active“… the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword…” (Hebrews 4:12). He challenges believers to “know what is written” so they are not silenced by the devil.

4. The Word of God is specific to each person’s identity in Christ: It is what the Word say about you, you proclaim. What it doesn’t say, you shouldn’t proclaim. For example, when someone was told by a doctor that they don’t have a womb, his pastor responded, “Shut up!” because the Bible says, “be fruitful” not “be wombful.” The Word of God dictates one’s spiritual identity and destiny, not circumstances. 2 Corinthians 4:13 (NIV) says, “It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak”.

N.B: Maintaining spiritual fire (and the Word power) depends on daily, consistent input such as reading the Word, dwelling on it, and letting it soak in. Small daily habits such as reading a Bible chapter and meditating deeply on it are better than sporadic big bursts without consistency.

Quote:  There’s no better tool of transformation other than the Word of God.
