Bible Reading: Proverbs 29: 17
Memory Verse: Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)
Other ways to raise God-fearing children include:
5. Maturity: Maturity is a skill developed through guidance, modeling, and experience. And yes it can be taught. Maturity is not being quiet or obedient. It means a child can manage emotions, take responsibility, think before acting, accept consequences, respect others and themselves. It is the responsibility of parents to teach these skills.
6. Mindfulness: Children can and should be taught mindfulness, and starting early sets them up for emotional balance, focus, and resilience. Mindfulness isn’t about being “quiet” or “perfectly calm.” It’s the skill of being present, noticing thoughts and feelings without judgment, and responding thoughtfully. A mindful child can notice emotions without being overwhelmed, focus on tasks without constant distraction, handle conflicts calmly, and respond thoughtfully instead of reacting impulsively. Awareness of thoughts and emotions helps children regulate behaviour.
7. Management (Time & Life): Children can and should be taught management skills, both time management and life management. Teaching this early sets them up for responsibility, independence, and success. Management isn’t just about schedules, it’s about planning, prioritizing, and making thoughtful choices. A child with management skills can plan tasks and activities, use time wisely without constant reminders, take care of responsibilities, and balance school, play, and rest. Planning and prioritizing reduce chaos and stress.
Quote: Parenting is now harder because too many untrained children are now parents.
Prophetic Decree: Today, the good Lord shall deliver your children from the shackles of death and hell plaguing their soul, in Jesus name.
