Bible Reading: Matthew 6:33

Memory Verse:  But seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto youMatthew 6:33

There is a difference between loving God and truly prioritising His work. A powerful story was shared about a young man on his wedding engagement day. Everything was going as expected – the ceremonies, the traditions, the delays. You know how such events can stretch longer than planned. But this young man had something else on his mind: a crusade. He told his father, “Whatever they need, give it to them, but let this meeting end quickly.” Why? Because he had an assignment for God.

As time went on and the delays continued, he made a bold decision: “By two o’clock, I will leave.” And when two o’clock came, he didn’t just talk, he stood up, picked his Bible, and left for the crusade. Surprisingly, his bride followed him. That moment spoke louder than any sermon. It showed a life where God’s work was not secondary; it was first!

Let’s bring it home. Many of us say God is important, but our schedules say otherwise. When work, comfort, social events, or even family traditions clash with God’s assignment, what wins? This young couple teaches us something deep: Priority is proven by what you are willing to walk away from. They weren’t disrespectful, they were disciplined. They understood something many believers struggle with: the work of God must not compete with other things; it must come first.

Jesus already told us clearly in Matthew 6:33 – seek God first. Not after everything else. Not when it’s convenient. First.

When you prioritise God: You don’t negotiate obedience. You don’t delay divine assignments. You don’t put ministry behind personal comfort.

And here is the beautiful part: their decision didn’t bring shame, it brought a testimony. It became an example to a whole church and generation.

So ask yourself honestly today: Do I truly prioritise the work of God, or do I fit God into my schedule when it suits me?

Quote:  Seek God first. Not after everything else. Not when it’s convenient. First!

Prophetic Decree:  Receive the divine enablement to set your heart on God and His work, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

Lord, help me to put You first in everything I do. Give me the boldness to prioritise Your work above my comfort, plans, and personal interests. Let my life reflect true commitment to Your kingdom, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
