Bible Reading: Matthew 13: 1-9, 23

Memory Verse: “Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. Matthew 13: 22 (NKJV)

Let us consider the final ground (heart) from the scriptures

Naturally, a seed planted in the soil produces fruits. The quantity and the quality of harvest is a function of the type of soil, amongst other factors, wherein it is planted.

From the parable of the sower, the good ground brought forth fruits in different folds. One hundred fold, another a sixty fold and another thirty fold (vs 23). How fruitful you are in the kingdom is a function of how you respond to the Word.  Be like the Berea Christians in Acts 17:10-11 who having heard the Word of God preached in their synagogue or temple, go back home to study for themselves and acted upon it. You are the one to determine the extent the Word of God prospers in your life. Make it a point of duty to act on the Word promptly. Do exactly what it says immediately you receive it. You must cultivate an attitude of instant obedience to the Word.

Quote: Receive, Respond, and Reproduce the Word.

Prophetic Decree: May your heart be a fertile ground for the Word of God to grow, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus:

  1. I repent in any way I might have taken your Word with levity in Jesus name.
  2. I receive a heart that promptly responds to the Word, in Jesus name.
  3. Power of transformation from the Word, envelope my heart today, in Jesus name.
  4. Holy Spirit, teach me your Word daily, in Jesus name.
  5. I receive fresh appetite for the Word of God, in Jesus name.
