A HOLISTIC RETREAT EVALUATION

Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 13:5

Memory Verse:  Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don’t drift along taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular check-ups. You need first hand evidence, not mere hearsay, that Jesus Christ is in you. Test it out. If you fail the test, do something about it2 Corinthians 13:5 (MSG)

A retreat is not just about prayer, worship, and fasting, it is also a time to allow the Holy Spirit to shine His searchlight on every corner of your life. In God’s presence, nothing is too “secular” to be reviewed; everything matters because everything can glorify Him. As you go before the Lord, prayerfully walk through these other areas:

1. Financial Faithfulness (1 Cor. 4:2): Score yourself from 1–10 prayerfully: How faithfully did I give to God’s work this year? Was I consistent in tithing? How well did I honour my biological parents? Did I bless my spiritual parents? How generous did I give to the poor? Did I give towards missions and evangelism?

Action: Ask the Lord for wisdom and courage to make adjustments. Write down practical steps for the coming year, and commit them before God.

2. Relationships that Reflect Christ (Rom. 12:18): Grade each area 1–10. Relationship with your spouse? Relationship with your children? Relationship with your superiors? Relationship with colleagues? Relationship with subordinates? Purity in dealing with the opposite sex; both in actions and in the secret thoughts of your heart?

Reflection: Am I careless with boundaries? Have I allowed bitterness, pride, or neglect to erode my relationships?

Action: Write concrete steps for reconciliation, improvement, and boundaries.

3. Physical Health Stewardship (1 Cor. 6:19): Consider: How often did I fall sick this year? What were the causes? Did I go for regular check-ups? How is my oral health?

Action: Seek God for discipline in diet, rest, and exercise. Create a plan that honours Him with your body.

4. Mental and Emotional Well-being (Rom. 12:2): Ask yourself: Am I mentally sound and emotionally stable? How do I react to anger or stress? Do I express displeasure in destructive ways such as smashing things, raising my voice, boiling silently?

Action: Ask the Holy Spirit for strategies to respond like Christ. Seek wise counsel if needed. Write down triggers, patterns, and godly alternatives.

5. Academic and Career Growth (Proverbs 22:29): Prayerfully reflect: What training or courses could advance my calling or career? What hindered my academic or professional progress this year? What certifications or targets did I miss, and why?

Action: Map out a plan for the coming year. Set Spirit-led goals, not just human ambitions.

QuoteNothing becomes dynamic until it first becomes specific.

Prophetic Decree: May the Lord of all grace perfect you this year, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

Lord, I lay every area of my life before You: my money, my relationships, my body, my mind, and my work. Search me, purify me, and lead me into paths that glorify You. Let the coming year reflect Your wisdom, Your love, and Your order in all that I do. Amen.
