Bible Reading: Psalm 63:1-8

Memory Verse:  O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. Psalm 63:1-2 (NKJV)

Pick up your hymn book and sing:  Deeper, deeper, in the love of Jesus

Apostle Paul was in the Arabia desert for three years alone with the Lord; receiving the pattern for his ministry (ministry means specific assignment) after an awesome encounter with the Lord on his way to Damascus. He refused to go the way other disciples or Apostles had gone (Gal 1:17-18). He came back with abundance of revelation and power to fulfill his calling in a grand style. The Apostles who were before him acknowledged the uncommon grace of God upon him (2 Peter 3:15-16). Our generation is too busy chasing shadows. Men who have time for God are men who go back with something extra from the Lord. The place of seclusion is the place of Power. You cannot operate in power without learning to be alone with the Lord, sometimes for several days. This goes beyond normal quiet time. We are talking about a deliberate attempt to be baptized wholly in God alone in a secluded place (it could be in your room, retreat centre or a mountain) free from ANY form of distraction that you may enter another dimension of glory in Him.

You remember Moses? He craved for something more than the usual. This is one basic attitude of men who stand alone in God’s presence. There’s a craving in their heart for His Glory, for His Presence for His touch. These set of men are in quote “spiritually covetous”. There’s got to be more of God, they say to themselves always. Moses was in God’s presence alone for 40 days and 40 nights (Exo 24:18). He came out with his face shining. Do you want to shine as gold? Do you want your destiny to be polished? Do you want answers to deep mysteries surrounding your life, then you need a time out with the Lord in solitary refinement? I challenge you don’t while away this festive period wining and dining. This holiday period must not go without you carving out at least one day to be alone with the Lord.

Quote:  If you must shine brighter in your generation, you must be ready to pay a higher price.

3. Holy Spirit, baptize me with a fresh hunger and thirst for more of you, in Jesus name.

4. Every arrow of spiritual shallowness, backfire, in Jesus name.

5. I receive an unquenchable hunger for more of You, O Lord, in Jesus name.
