Bible reading: 2 Chronicles 18:1-43
Memory Verse: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelations 21:8
Tell me you are not guilty of lying and I’ll not believe you. We all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23). But, why do we lie? And, how can we be free from a lying spirit?
You remember lying to collect some extra money from your parents to buy books and hand outs that was not demanded which you later diverted to buying some latest clothes and smart phone. Some even lie to satisfy their inordinate passions such as clubbing and “gyrating” everywhere. Please do not fast forward your life else, you crash land.
Listen to me beloved, no man will ever commit into your hands anything of value if you can’t be trusted with the truth. How much more God? Read Luke 16:10 – 12.
The mysterious disappearance of the meat in the pot was not done by anyone else but Kelechi. Yet, she denied vehemently, and all her siblings were flogged by her mother.
A liar kills his own conscience gradually until it becomes dead. A liar is an enemy of the truth. A liar is a corrupt person.
Abraham lied to king Ahimelech to save his life; Jacob lied to Isaac to inherit the birthright. The consequences followed suit. Abraham’s testimony was soiled and Jacob was forced to go on exile for many years to avert the wrath of Esau, his brother. Liars will always dance to the ridiculous music they play with their own mouth.
Choose to be truthful though it cost. Stand for righteousness and uphold the truth. Though painful it maybe, you will always be remembered for your unique stand.
Quote: The Truth shall prevail.
Prophetic Word: I cast out every lying spirit from your life, in Jesus name.
Prayer points:
Lord Jesus, I repent of all lies I have ever said. Let your Blood wash me clean. I purge my mouth with the Blood of Jesus and cleanse my spirit with the fire of the Holy Ghost. Purge me with hyssop, and I will be clean, wash me, and I will be whiter than snow (Psalm 51:7). I receive great grace to serve You and all my neighbours, in Spirit and in truth in Jesus name. Amen
