Introduction

Azusa Street Revival was a Pentecostal revival meeting that took place in Los Angeles, California and is the origin of the Pentecostal movement. It was led by William J. Seymour, an African American preacher. It started on April 9, 1906, and continued until around 1915.

And what about it…?

It was a revival filled with great miracles, dramatic worship services, speaking in tongues and the coming together of different races worldwide. The revival is considered to be trigger of the spread of Pentecostalism in the 20^th century. The most important thing about the revival is that people got baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

Folks, desire the outpour of the Holy Spirit in your life every day. The presence of the Holy Spirit in your life and in any place could be so real causing great revival such as the Azusa street revival. Men will be convicted of their sins without much preaching. Acts 2:37-47.

I believe you are now baptized with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. (If you yet to be baptized pray harder unto God for His Spirit). As many that are already baptized, speak more in the new tongue (don’t be shy). You become more fluent in the language He has given you by doing so. Also, the more you speak in tongues, the more you refill your spiritual tank, and recharge your spiritual batteries; just like the early disciples did.

Again, the Holy Spirit is a person. He is the third person of the trinity (God-head). When He comes into your life, you become powerful; empowered to do great things for God like Peter and John at the Beautiful gate. Acts 3: 1-10. Christianity becomes a mere religion devoid of intimate fellowship with God and with His power without the Holy Spirit.

Thirst and hunger for more of Him every day of your life.

ACTION WORD:       THE HOLY SPIRIT MY SENIOR PARTNER.

PRAYER POINT:

1. Dear Holy Spirit, come into my life today, be my senior partner, in the name of Jesus.
2. Power of the Holy Spirit, come upon me; power of the Most High God, overshadow me. Luke 1:35.
