Bible Reading: Daniel 6: 3 – 4

Memory VerseNow Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom. Daniel 6:3 (NIV)

To be exceptional means to be unusual; not typical. It is a rare quality of being uniquely different. It means to stand out from the crowd. It means to be ‘uniquely unique’. This is the predominant quality that made Daniel, Shedrach, Meshach and Abegnego to stand out in Babylon.

If you must move from standing before ordinary men to standing before kings, you must be exceptional. If kings must come to the brightness of your rising in this New Year, then you must demonstrate some exceptional qualities. In this generation where everyone wants to follow what is trending, you will need to submit to the excellent spirit of Christ in order to be exceptional.

Amidst your friends, I hope you have not being coerced by societal pressure to use those weird slangs, engage in the usual examination malpractices, follow bad gang, smoke, use hard drugs, miss classes, disrupt classes, insult teachers, and exhibit all manner of youthful exuberances?

How exceptional and detailed are you when your superiors give you a task to do in your place of work? Are you indifferent? I encourage you to do everything to the best of your ability, and most importantly to the glory of God.

In your relationship with your spouse, be exceptional. Serve your husband’s food with a touch of the unusual, acknowledge the contribution of your wife to your life most profoundly in the public. Let Jesus be seen in you.

Dear brethren, it is a new year, choose to be different and see your life move from glory to glory.

Quote: Everybody is standing, but you must stand out. Everybody is breaking grounds; but you must breakthrough! Everybody scratching it; but you must scratch it hard! Everybody is going, but you must keep going extra miles! Dare to be exceptionally excellent and why not? – Israelmore Ayivor.

Prophetic Decree: Receive the mark of exception that will single you out for uncommon promotion, in Jesus name.
