Scripture Reading: Joshua 1:8

Memory verse for the week:   1 Sam 3:4

“The voice of the Lord said Samuel’s name; and he said, Here am I.” (BBE)

The Bible is the Believers’ manual for understanding the mind of God (Joshua 1:8). It is the Believers’ Information Bringing Life Eternal. It is written by anointed men of God under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (2 Tim 3:17). The Bible is the oldest book with the latest information. The Bible is the Basic Instruction Before Leaving the Earth. The Bible is also referred to as the Scriptures (Script + Pictures) – the Bible is the only reliable scripts containing the pictures of life. Nothing must be added or removed from it.

The Bible is a spiritual book of convenant (testament) in two parts: The Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament has 39 chapters and the New Testament has 27 chapters. The entire Bible has 1189 chapters; 929 chapters of the Old Testament and 260 of the New Testament.

The Bible is made up of 66 books/chapters, 23,145 verses of the Old Testament, 7,957 verses of the New Testament and a total of 31,102 verses. Psalm 117 is the 595th chapter of the Bible, the shortest chapter of the Bible and the chapter right in the middle of the Bible. Psalm 119 is the longest chapter of the Bible. God has magnified His words above all His names (Psalm 138:2).

The Bible is not an ordinary book. It shouldn’t be read like a novel, newspaper, magazine or any of your subjects at school. Read it prayerfully. Tell the Spirit of God to interpret it to you as you read. I pray as you read the scriptures, may the scriptures open up to you, in Jesus name.

ACTION WORD: READ YOUR BIBLE, PRAY EVERYDAY.

PRAYER POINT:

  1. Great appetite for the Word of God, fall upon my heart, in the name of Jesus.
  2. I receive the fire in the Word of God, in the name of Jesus.
