BIBLICAL WISDOM FOR MANAGING ANGER (2)

Bible reading: Col. 3:8

Memory Verse: “A foolish man lets out all his wrath, but a wise man keeps it back quietly” Proverbs 29:11 (BBE).

  1. A lot of times we become angry because we are selfish or have skewed ideas or expectations of God. His concern is our growth and maturity, not our wealth or comfort. When we change our thinking, our feelings also change (Rom. 12;2 Cor. 5:16-19).
  2. Learn to trust and have confidence in God, and not in your situation. Our security is in Christ alone (Psa. 23:4; 27:1-14; Prov. 1:7; 3:3-10; Heb. 11:6; Jam. 1:17).
  3. Remember this important point: God uses people and circumstances to improve your character. So, make the most of your harsh circumstances, and surrender yourselves to Christ (Gal.2:20-21; 5:16; 1 Pet. 4:12-16).
  4. Seek deliverance from the spirit of anger (especially when you notice it in your family lineage)
  5. Reduce screen time. There is a direct relationship between violent TV shows, movies, internet content, video games & violent behaviour. If you must watch wrestling, please desist from watching the violent bloody type. By watching such, many have contacted violent spirit of anger. Be warned!
  6. Exercise. Even a little regular exercise can help ease depression, boost energy and mood, relieve stress, regulate sleep patterns, and improve your self-esteem. You could also try real sport.

N.B. Taking drugs and alcohol “to calm” yourself when angry is like a man who desires to see the day after tomorrow without seeing tomorrow. It’s simply a mirage! Only the power of the Holy Ghost can truly deliver one from anger. Stay connected to God’s power today.

Quote: When we change our thinking, we change our feelings.

Prophetic Word: The Holy Spirit shall take over your emotions now and forever, in Jesus name.

Prayer point:

  1. Holy Spirit, purge my life from the grip of anger, in Jesus name.
  2. Destructive anger spirit from my foundation, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Powers that have vowed to destroy me with anger, you’re a liar, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
