Bible Reading: Romans 8: 35-39 , 2 Cor. 4: 6-10

Memory Verse: Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. Jude 1:3 (NKJV)

Casper Ten Boom (18th May 1859 – 10th March 1944) was a Dutch Christian who helped many Jews and racists escape the Nazis during the Holocaust of World War II. On 28th February, 1944 the Gestapo (the official secret state police of Nazi Germany & German-occupied territory Europe) raided his house and arrested Ten Boom and his daughters, as well as his son Willem, daughter Nollie, and grandson Peter, who were visiting. The Gestapo arrested other supporters who visited the house during the day, taking a total of 30 people to prison.

When Ten Boom was interrogated in prison, the Gestapo told him they would release him because of his age so that he could “die in his own bed”. He replied: “If I go home today, tomorrow I will open my door to anyone who knocks for help”. When asked if he knew he could die for helping the Jews, he replied, “It would be an honor to give my life for God’s chosen people.” Casper died at the age of 84 after 10 days in prison.

Hum…A man laid down his life and that of his family to defend the Jews – God’s chosen people. He took a ‘Stand for Jesus’ and the kingdom of heaven alongside every member of his family. What have you risked for the sake of the kingdom of God? Will you stand for Jesus in the face of death? Will you stand for Jesus in the exam hall when others are cheating? Will you still stand for Jesus when there’s no food or drink on your table. May God give us the Old time religion.

Quote:  Dare to stand for Jesus in all situations.

Prophetic Decree:  May your faith endure the hardness of time, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus:

  1. My faith will not fail me in the days of adversity, in the name of Jesus.
  2. I receive power in my inner man to stand for Jesus while the billows roll, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Holy Spirit, grant me grace to endure till the end, in Jesus name.
  4. I rebuke faith killers, in Jesus name.
  5. Every arrow targeted at my faith, backfire, in Jesus name.
