CHOOSING A CAREER PATH IN TODAY’S WORLD

CHOOSING A CAREER PATH IN TODAY’S WORLD

Bible Reading: Proverbs 3: 5-6

Memory Verse:  I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.  Psalm 32:8 (ESV)

Someone wrote: “It takes two years to study to be a registered nurse in America, and your average annual salary is $124,000. By contrast, it takes about four years to study liberal arts courses like sociology, political science, library science, philosophy, and anthropology. If you are blessed enough to find a job in your field, the average annual salary is less than $40,000.

Think about this before you commit four years of your life and $10,000 of your parents’ money to study a degree that can’t decree wealth into your life. Study six month certifiable skills like Cloud Computing, Web Design, Ethical Hacking, Blockchain, AI technician, Cybersecurity, Data Analysis, Nursing, etc. Read relevant courses, not elegant ones.”

The 21st century has brought about a significant transformation in the job market, with new technologies and industries reshaping the landscape of career choices. Key trends driving this change include:

I. Technological Advancements E.g. Automation and Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (i.e. machines processing data and making decisions thereby creating new career opportunities in fields such as data science, software engineering, and robotics) and of course, Internet of Things (IoT)

II. Changing Workforce E.g. Aging Population (i.e. there is a growing demand for healthcare professionals, social workers, and other workers who can support older adults), Increasing Diversity, Rise of the Gig Economy (i.e. individuals work on a freelance or contract basis),

III. Emerging Industries E.g. Renewable Energy, Healthcare Technology such as medical imaging, telemedicine, and personalized medicine, and Cybersecurity.

In conclusion: Be wise in your career choice. Let God guide you. Don’t study a course that won’t be relevant in the near future. In addition, to any course you study, do well to understand the technology aspect of it.

Quote:  Don’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, you can achieve — Mary Kay Ash

Prophetic Decree: Like Peter, henceforth you will not throw your net to unprofitable waters, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Alpha and Omega, Jesus Christ, we thank You.

2. O Lord, make your will known over my career, in Jesus name.

3. Grace for divine direction, overshadow my life, in Jesus name.

4. Any attack upon my staff of bread, backfire, in Jesus name.

5. Any power sucking the blood of the works of my hands, receive double destruction, in Jesus name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 17, 35, 54, 63

FOCUS LESS ON YOUR ERRORS

It is often said that to err is human and to forgive is divine. Jesus in John 8:7 (AMP) said, "...He who is without [any] sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” Then, you must not allow your mistakes to define you...
