Memory Verse:   …Men ought to behave themselves in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. 1 Timothy 3:15b (NHET)

Some habits in our modern day churches calls for serious attention. The fear of God must be burn in our heart again. Some of such bad habits include:

1. Playing with phones and surfing the internet: It is disrespectful to receive or answer a phone call during service. Your phone is best switched off or kept in silent mode when you enter the House of God. This is Church protocol. When you attend to a call in the middle of a service, it is a sign that the presence of God means nothing to you. You do not sit in front of the President receiving or answering calls. Do you? Neither will you sit in front of a VIP or panel of examiners to check your Facebook or WhatsApp messages. Will you? Some are busy playing games, chatting and reading online news during ministration. Why do that before the King of kings? Do not provoke God to wrath. Apostle Paul said, “All I count but dung for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ” (Phil. 3:8).
2. Eating / Chewing gum: Distributing food packs while the message is going on is a dishonour to God. It is equally a bad spiritual habit to eat in the sanctuary. The sanctuary is strictly meant for spiritual work. The Church auditorium must never be converted to a wedding or birthday reception. Do not desecrate the temple of the Almighty; it is surrounded with innumerable company of angels.
3. Dating: It may surprise you to know that many come to Church looking for a “catch “. If that is your reason for coming to Church, you need to repent today.

Prayer Focus:

1. I repent of every bad habit in my life towards the house of God in Jesus name.

2. From today, I will serve God in fear and awe, in Jesus name.

3. The spirit that wasted Nadab and Abihu shall not catch up with me, in Jesus name.

4. Father, renew your fear daily in my heart, in Jesus name.

5. I reject the demon of tabernacle desecration, in Jesus name.
