CONSEQUENCES AND SOLUTION TO DRUG ABUSE

Bible reading: Gen. 19:31-36

Memory Verse: God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple. 1 Corinthians 3:17 (NLT)

The results of drug abuse include: Extreme violent behavior, rape, drug induced suicide, paranoia (false belief about oneself due to mental illness), poor academic performance, theft in order to feed the habit, dropout from school, poor health condition, indebtedness and waste of resources (money and material).

Solutions To Drug Abuse Includes:

  1. Parental guidance: Many parents have relegated their responsibilities to school teachers, house helps, relatives and neighbours. Parents should educate their children on self-esteem. They don’t need drugs to do anything or to belong. Because it is sometimes the feeling of inadequacy and low esteem that causes it often times. If they are already aware of who they are at home, they won’t need it. Parents should be more involved in the educational progress of their children through effective collaboration with the school. In addition, parents/guardians should regularly monitor the activities of their children/wards at home in terms of the kinds of friends they keep, their late night activities, as well as their consumption of the Internet as much as humanly possible
  • Take Personal responsibility: Reject bad peer influence. A wise man once said, “The definition of madness is doing the same thing in the same way and expecting the same result”. You can’t be hanging out with friends that lure you to drugs and expect to stay free from drugs.

Quote: A momentary high feeling could lead to lifelong pain and evil addiction.

Prophetic Word: I cut you off from every evil network, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus:

  1. I curse the spirit of drug abuse in my life, in Jesus name.
  2. Holy Spirit, baptize us with a renewed heart daily, in Jesus name.
  3. By the Blood of Jesus, I reverse the consequences of drugs in my life, in Jesus name.
  4. I cut off the root of addiction in my life, in Jesus name.
  5. Spirit of addiction in my life and family, die, in Jesus name.
