Bible Reading: 1 Thessalonians 4: 3-7

Memory Verse: Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 (NLT)

Other consequences of sexual sins include:

9. It brings the painful judgment of God: Being under grace does not remove the painful consequences of sin. King David was forgiven, but there was a painful judgment (2 Sam. 12:11). Fornicators and adulterers will be judged by God (Heb. 13:4).

10. It forfeits all joy and gladness: When sexual impurity moves in, joy moves out (Ps. 51:8). Joy and gladness will not move in until the lust in your heart has moved out and there has been repentance and confession of sins.

11. It ruins your testimony before others: Secret sin will one day become open scandal. Whether you are in ministry or not, there will be a multitude before whom you are accountable to, be it spouse, children, parents, in-laws, or friends. Even with their forgiveness the questions will come. “Sir, how could you have done this to madame, or vice versa?”; “I thought you were a Christian?”

12. It forfeits spiritual power: Sexual sin unplugs you from the power of the Holy Spirit (Ps. 51:10).

13. It establishes an evil intimacy: Sexual sin with another person, albeit ever so brief, establishes a lasting bond (1 Cor. 6:16). This is the mystery of evil soul tie.

14. It forfeits physical strength: David became sick as a result of sexual sin. He felt as if his body wasted away. It was like God put a syringe in him and sucked out his vitality (Ps. 32:4). Sexual sin also brings one illness upon another (2 Sam. 12:14).

15. It forfeits financial resources: Sexual sin can result in paying for things you did not bargain (Prov. 5:10). Perhaps you’ll be paying for medical bills, litigation, damaged property, or paying for another child you did not intend to have.

16. It bring public disgrace and painful shame: Sexual sin is not one that is easily forgotten. Inherent to it is a unique shame. “Wounds and disgrace he will find, and his reproach will not be blotted out”  (Prov. 6:33).

Goodnews: “It’s time to get healed. It’s time to confess. Falling for the bait doesn’t make you the worst person in the world. You were snared. You were hooked. But you don’t have to stay that way. Now is the time to deal with the shackles that keep you enslaved. Today you can leave the prison that sexual immorality has created from your past mistakes. Hear your Father’s voice call out to you above the noisy clamour of our culture. He says, “I love you. You’re free to go now. Sexual sin has no hold on you” – Craig Groeschel

Prophetic Decree: Let the thunder of heaven strike all powers tying you down to the grip of sexual sins, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. O Lord, I’m sorry for defiling my body. Please forgive and have mercy upon me, in Jesus name.

2. I destroy the stronghold of sexual demons in my spirit, soul and body, in Jesus name.

3. Fire of sanctification, enter into my spirit, soul and body, in Jesus name.

4. Any occultic implantation in my body as a result of fornication or adultery, catch fire, in Jesus name.

5. Ancestral rope used to control my life as a result of sexual sins, be unplugged, in Jesus name.
