Bible Reading: Numbers 25: 1-9

Memory Verse: We must not indulge in sexual immorality as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in a single day. 1 Corinthians 10:8 (ESV)

Today, we shall round off on the consequences of sexual sins.

17. It causes others to stumble: Especially when those in position of authority in church or at the government falls into adultery or fornication.

18. It is uniquely self-destructive: Sexual sin is a sin that is uniquely against one’s own body (1 Cor. 6:18).

19. It may lead to unwanted pregnancy: The story of Judah and Shuah in Genesis 38:25, including David and Bathsheba (2 Sam 11:5) are examples to show that sexual sin can easily lead to an unwanted pregnancy.

20. It always lead to other sins: Fornication/adultery opens up the doors for other sins. Until you repent, sexual sin usually sets off an avalanche of additional sin.

21. It invites painful confrontation from others: David faced one of the most humiliating moments of his life because of sexual sin (2 Sam. 12:7). It may also lead to a messy and painful church discipline process and family ostracization.

22. It gives God’s enemies cause to blaspheme: God’s enemies are always on the lookout for justifiable mockery. Sexual sin is one of them. It drags the name of God through the mud (2 Sam. 12:14). It gives unbelievers an open door to blaspheme Christ.

23. It forfeits spiritual influence with the lost: Unbelievers won’t think that we are more strategically relevant because we join them in sexual sin. Iniquity will render you powerless in your witness to the world. Christ, who is our perfect example was the most relevant and powerful in His witness, because he did not yield to fleshly lusts.

Goodnews: More could be said about the consequences of sexual sins. Despite the consequences however, the great news is that Christ’s substitutionary, wrath-bearing sacrifice is sufficient to cleanse all sins; and God is eager to forgive those who surrender their lives to Christ by faith. He took the full punishment for your sins and rose triumphantly from the grave as your Mediator. Those steeped in the worst sexual sin can also be instantly declared clean before God by faith in Jesus Christ if only they confess and repent of their sins.

Quote: Have respect for marriage. Always be faithful to your partner, because God will punish anyone who is immoral or unfaithful in marriage – Hebrews13:4(CEV).

Prophetic Decree: Receive grace for sexual purity, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. The God who is great in holiness, we thank You.

2. Demonic microchip monitoring the movement and progress of my life as a result of sexual sin, be corrupted, in Jesus name.

3. Anywhere I have sold my destiny, by the mercies of God, I recover it back, in Jesus name.

4. Any reptile crawling in my body, come out and burn to ashes, in Jesus name.

5. I receive deliverance in my spirit, soul and body from all forms of satanic assault as a result of sexual sins, in Jesus name.
