Bible Reading: Hebrews 4: 15-16

Memory Verse:  The one who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will find mercyProverbs 28:13 (CSB)

He is a good transport driver. He always prays before he starts his daily work. But, one major weakness – he is an alcohol addict.

He is a Professor of Accounting; well-read and well acknowledged. Just one weakness made him a puppet in the hands of the devil – he is an adulterer.

Now, he is suffering from invasion of cockroaches which mysteriously appears and disappears from his head. Your weakness is that ladder the devil uses to gain access into your life.

What is that weakness in your life that has become a ladder for the devil to perch on? Could it be pornography, masturbation, lust, anger, gossip, backbiting, malice, etc? You need to deal with it before it corrupts and eventually ruin your destiny. I beg of you, don’t hide your sin or weaknesses. “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy” (Proverbs 28:13 NIV).

If you don’t expose your sin, your sin will someday expose you. When sin exposes a man, it comes with shame and ridicule. Worst still, the devil operates like that farmer who patiently feeds his cattles, only to butcher it at its prime. Be warned.

How do you deal with your weaknesses?

1. Genuine repentance: You must exercise true godly sorrow that brings repentance.

2Deliverance: Cast out the demon in charge of such weakness.

3Renew your mind with the Word of God daily: This is your surest bet! Psalm 119:11, “Thy word have I kept in mine heart, that I might not sin against you.” Daily meditate upon a scripture that talks about your weakness.

4Get an accountability partner: Submit to a matured person, Pastor, or godly parent/elder about the weakness.

5Prayer: Talk to God passionately and desperately about it daily.

6. Burn the bridge: Get rid of everything that gives you access to that sin. Perhaps you will have to make do with a phone that is not Internet enabled until you conquer sexual sins such as pornography and masturbation. You may have to do away with friends that cause you to talk too much in order to deal with gossip.

7. Trust God for a specific Word/instruction: One word from the Lord through His prophets, through a dream, a vision, or inspiration could terminate age-long foundational weakness.

8. Keep your mind productively busy: You can’t be lazing around and expect the devil not to exploit your weakness. An idle hand is the devil’s workshop.

9. Ask for the mercy of God: Like Blind Bartimaeus, mercy prevails over judgement

QuoteTrue strength is the courage to admit our weaknesses and with God, deal with it.

Prophetic Decree: By the power in the Blood of Jesus, I break the grip of sin over your life, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. My Father, walk back to my foundation and cut me off from all foundational weaknesses, in Jesus name.

2. Altar of destruction of my father’s house powering any weakness in my life, catch fire, in Jesus name.

3. I receive grace to subject myself to a life of discipline and self-restraint, in Jesus name.

4. I receive wisdom to rule over my weaknesses, in Jesus name.

5. Holy Spirit, please transform and renew my mind in Jesus name.

Many pay attention to what is happening rather than what is going on. One of the greatest challenges in life and destiny is the temptation to focus only on what is happening i.e. the immediate, visible, noisy events around us while failing to discern what is really going on...
