Bible Reading: Hebrews 12: 1-2

Memory VerseWe must keep our eyes on Jesus, who leads us and makes our faith complete. He endured the shame of being nailed to a cross, because he knew later on he would be glad he did. Now he is seated at the right side of God’s throne! Hebrews 12:2 (CEV)

…Continued from yesterday. I remembered that when it looked like I wasn’t meeting up with my savings target and time was running out, I cut my hair so that I could divert the money that should have been spent on my hair to my savings.

When I finally opened my shop a month before our Passing Out Parade (POP), you will think I can now afford to do the things I have always wanted to do, but I could not because my business was just at its infant stage. In order to get it to the level I have always desired, I had to do all the work by myself because I could not afford a help at that time. I will go to the market and carry baskets of tomatoes and sacks filled with vegetables on my head because I was trying to cut down additional cost. On the days I didn’t take my lunch from home, I knew I will be in trouble that day because it was all that I could afford at that time. My business was just in its infant stage and if I must succeed, I mustn’t spend from my sales. I could remember I could not show up for some events because I didn’t have the appropriate outfit for them. I could not even afford to go for weddings when I was amongst the bride’s friend. Most times, I will send in my apologies and excuse, but in real sense, I didn’t want to go anywhere not looking my best. Today, that same business that I could hardly take a penny from is what is paying my bills and that of my children. Today I can afford to wear good hairs and good phones just like every other person. Today, my only excuse for not showing up in an event is lack of time and not lack of befitting outfits. You see everything beautiful takes time, sacrifices and determination. It will not make sense to people, and of course, it does not have to make sense to them. It is your dream, not theirs. If you have to forego your pleasure, looks, and even what you eat for a dream that you have, please do. Yes, it will not be easy, but eventually, it will be worth it. It will not make sense to many, but it doesn’t have to make sense to anyone as long as it makes sense to you. Nobody gets a clear picture of what you are doing until results start showing up. There are some roads that you have to take alone and this is one of them. Are you ready to delay your gratification for pleasure, food, sex, money, glory, etc., in order to achieve your golden dreams?

Quote: Success awaits those who steadfastly commit to any requisite sacrifice – Ken Poirot.

Prophetic Decree: The hold of any power that frustrates success in your life die now, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Father for the grace to think and act like Jesus according to Hebrews 12:2

2. My Father, hastily crown my sacrifices with outstanding success, in Jesus name.

3. Powers that rubbish sacrifices, die, in Jesus name.

4. I receive the grace to walk with Jesus daily, in Jesus name.

5. Arrow of shame and frustration fired into the labour of my hands, backfire, in Jesus name.
