Bible Reading: Galatians 5: 13-21
Memory Verse: So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. Galatians 5:16 (NLT)
When you become born again, you are grafted into Christ. However, the sinful tendencies of our past life may still struggle to find expression in our new life. That’s the self-life. We must die daily to it.
What does it mean to die to self?
1. When someone close to you succeed in the field where you have once tried and failed yet you are not jealous.
2. When a colleague in your office gets the promotion you think you deserve, and you refuse to be angry.
3. When someone intentionally provokes you but you refuse to be provoked.
4. Another person acquired something you have always wanted, but you’re not envious.
5. When you do something worthy, but there is no appreciation or recommendation and you are not embittered.
6. When someone you have always loved betrays you and you show no revenge.
7. When people are trying to take advantage of you, but you have no resentment.
8. When you receive insult and slander without being vindictive.
9. When you can receive criticism and corrections without feeling bad.
10. If you can still love those who turned against you in whom you have invested so much time, energy, and resources.
11. When you are forgotten and neglected, but you don’t have any ill feeling against anyone.
12. When you are purposely side tracked, but there is no hard feeling.
13. When you don’t feel hurt when you are insulted.
14. When your good is evil spoken of.
15. When your advice is turned down, and you don’t feel ridiculed.
Brethren, looking at the aforementioned, obviously, Jesus is calling you and I to a higher life. Religion won’t help you achieve all of these save the enabling power of the Spirit of grace. Until you see Jesus as your all in all, it may not be possible to die to self. It is the Spirit of God that quickens, the flesh profits nothing. No mortal can die to self without the enabling power of the Holy Spirit. Today, make up your mind to develop deep intimacy with the Holy Spirit.

Prayer Focus
1. Thank you Spirit of God for your enabling power to live above my carnal nature.
2. Today, I receive power and exercise dominion to live about self.
3. Channels of my Spirit open up, in Jesus name.
4. Fresh fire of the Holy Spirit, possess my thought life, in Jesus name.
5. I receive grace to see, think, talk, walk like Jesus on earth, in Jesus name.
