Bible Reading: Galatians 6: 7-9

Memory Verse:  Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up. Galatians 6:9 (CSB)

Those who do good will always have good things following them. The scriptures cannot be broken. Sulaiman Olawuyi is a Point of Sales (PoS) operator in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, who became the cynosure of all eyes when it was discovered that he was charging N50 for N5,000 withdrawal, while other operators were inflating their charges. His sincerity and patriotism eventually paid off and has brought him to limelight.

The 30-yr old who finished as a BSc. holder in Building Technology from Obafemi Awolowo University said, “Since I can’t steal or get involved into Yahoo Yahoo (cybercrime), I decided to make good of the little money I was able to save during my service year in order to start a profitable business. So, I ventured into PoS and sales of cooking gas”.

He further said, “In whatever you do, you have to consider two things. First, your Lord, and ask yourself that if you do this, what will likely be the reward from God? Secondly, service to humanity because the way you treat people when they need you is the same way they will treat you when you need them.

Other lessons from his life include:

1. While he hopes for the best, he is maximizing what he has at hand in the fear of God and with a good heart. The problem with some graduates is that they are too big to stoop low. If you’re too big to start small, then you are too small to grow big. Start small, dream big. Journey through the process with God.

2. Another thing I want you to take a cursory look at is the circumstance surrounding his time of announcement. The country was experiencing a cash scarcity. The season of your divine lifting usually comes when you least expected and many times, comes with a test attached. Had he joined the bandwagon of others who take advantage of economic situation, he could have used his own hands to shut down his Kairos (divinely appointed) season.

Quote:  If you are too big to start small in all honesty then you are too small to grow big on all sides.

Prophetic Decree: May your heart pant after righteousness, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Father for the devotional for today.

2. I receive grace for humility, in Jesus name.

3. I receive grace for sincerity in Jesus name.

4. I receive grace to take a stand for righteousness amidst unrighteousness, in Jesus name.

5. Lord, help me to be a difference maker in my community despite the corruption in my environment, in Jesus name. Amen.
