Bible Reading: Mal. 3: 8-10, Prov. 11:24-27
Memory Verse: The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself. Proverbs 11:25 (NKJV)
Can a man ever do a wrong transaction with God? A brother was invited to church for a thanksgiving service, and he sat at the front row. When it was time for offering, the offering basket was passed round. Despite the Pastor’s charge for a good offering, he hurriedly and secretly pulled out 20.00 Naira from his pocket and dropped it. The person behind him tapped him on the shoulder and handed to him 1,000.00 Naira. He smiled and sowed generously. He thankfully put the N1,000.00 (3 dollars) in the basket and passed it on. He turned back to thank the man again for being so generous. The man replied “Don’t mention. Be more careful next time, it fell off your pocket”.
A stingy man ends up spending more than he bargained for. Many who prefer buying things in bits end up paying more. Those who eat their tithes and deprive God of their offering end up paying more in the hands of the devourers. The devourer, Satan, the evil one gains a legal stand in the works of their hands. Such people could begin to have unprecedented attack in their work place. At other times, the devourer could come against their health. Their children could also suffer from such attacks of the enemy.
Our God owns the cattles upon a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10). Silver and gold are His (Haggai 2:8). God is not begging for your money, time or resources. With or without you, He does whatsoever He pleases. He is concerned about your heart. He wants you to put Him first (Mat 6:33). He wants you to constantly acknowledge Him with the first fruits of all your increase (Prov. 3:9). Repent today if you have been stingy to your Creator and your neighbour.
Quote: Do not be penny wise, pound foolish!
Prophetic Decree: Receive your deliverance from every self-destructive habit, in Jesus name.
