Bible Reading: Galatians 5:19-21

Memory Verse: What sorrow for those who get up early in the morning looking for a drink of alcohol and spend long evenings drinking wine to make themselves flaming drunk.  Isaiah 5:11(NLT)

Drug is defined as any chemical substance which when taken into the body affects one’s mood, behaviour and/or state of mind. In other words, any substance that changes the way the body or mind functions (the way someone feels, thinks, sees, tastes, smells, hears or behaves) is a drug. By this definition, drug is all encompassing, ranging from the socially acceptable drugs (Alcohol, Caffeine and Nicotine) through prescription drugs (Amphetamine, Lexotan, Valium) to the illicit drugs (Cocaine, Heroin, Marijuana).

Drug Abuse is the habitual use of drugs not needed for therapeutic purposes, but solely to alter one’s mood, or state of consciousness, or to affect a body function unnecessarily (as in laxative abuse). Drug abuse is the recurrent use of illegal drugs, or the misuse of prescription or over- the-counter drugs.

Other names given to drug abuse includes: Substance abuse, Illicit drug abuse, Narcotic abuse, Hallucinogen abuse. The drug problem is as old as man. No society is insulated from the negative consequences of illicit drugs.

Food for Thought:         Why ruin your destiny because of drug abuse?

Quote: True freedom is not the absence of caution.

Prophetic Word: I cut you off from the chains and shackles of drug abuse, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

  1. I flush out every evil flow from my parents to me, in Jesus name.
  2. Evil family spirit working against my destiny, catch fire, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Like Father-like son syndrome in my life, die, in Jesus name.
  4. Like Mother-like daughter syndrome in my life, die, in Jesus name.
  5. Blood of Jesus, flush out every form of addiction and abuse in my life, in Jesus name
