Bible Reading: 2 Kings 2:1-15

Memory Verse: And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me 2 kings 2:9

The generation of today must get this straight once and for all: Nothing of value is free or cheap. Surely, there is a price to be paid. Stop looking for free money, free grades, etc. Be a diligent worker. Many times you have to be hard on yourself doing what must be done even when you do not feel like doing it. Brother and sister, you must crucify yourself daily. Monumental achievement comes with a great price. No one goes to a boutique to buy designer clothes without payment. In the same way, if you must put on the garment of glory, you must be ready to pay a price. Anything of value truly is costly. I pray the Lord will baptize you with this mindset, in Jesus name.

Elisha was desperate to get the double portion of the anointing from Elijah his Master. He paid the price. Against the suggestion of his master, he journeyed with him from Gilgal (modern-day Jiljilya) to Bethel (modern-day Beitin). This is about 7.44 miles. Then he moved from Bethel to Jericho (11.57 mi) and from Jericho to Jordan River (5.92 mi). If 1 mile is 1,609.344 metres then, Elisha travelled 40,120.95 metres (40km). All these happened after he had left his flourishing farming business and had served Elijah for 20 years.

The proof of desire is sacrifice! What price are you willing to pay for your harvest? As you start a new term or semester, go all out to be the success that you desire. A word for all those who want to make it quick and fast either by hook or by crook: “Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears, wealth from hardwork grows over time” Proverbs 13:11 (NLT). May you not burn your own destiny. Gambling, Ponzi Scheme, armed robbery, money ritual, internet scam, forgery, kidnapping for ransome, etc, will never make you truly rich. Such things only add to one’s sorrow. Life operates by principles, God operates by His standard.

Quote: Success is predictable. Check attitude!

Prophetic Decree: I crush by the hammer of the Almighty powers and principalities on your way to good success, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus:

  1. My Father, give me a destiny vision today, in Jesus name.
  2. I receive divine grace to follow God’s plan for my life to the end, in Jesus name.
  3. Father Lord, strengthen my resolution to maximize my destiny, in Jesus name.
  4. Curse of thou shall not be the head, die in Jesus name.
  5. I receive the faith and the patience to carry my Cross till the end in Jesus name.
