Bible reading: Rom. 4:18-21.
Memory Verse: “For without doubt there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off “Proverbs 23:18(BBE).
Can someone tell me the meaning of our topic for today? Guess you wouldn’t know!
The 2010 Copiapó mining accident (Chilean mining accident) began in the afternoon of Thursday, 5th August, 2010 as a significant cave-in at the troubled 121-year-old San José copper–gold mine. The buried men, who became known as “Los 33” (“The 33”), were trapped 700 meters (2,300 ft.) underground and about 5 kilometres (3 mi) from the mine’s entrance via spiralling underground service ramps. The mixed crew of experienced miners and technical support personnel, with less experience working underground, survived for a record 69 days underground before their rescue.
Seventeen days after the accident, on 22 August, a note written in bold red letters appeared taped to a drill bit, when it was pulled to the surface after penetrating an area believed to be accessible to the trapped workers. It read “Estamosbien en el refugio, los 33” (English: “We are well in the shelter, the 33 of us”).
Once the rescuers and the world knew that the men were alive, Chile implemented a comprehensive plan to care for the workers during their entrapment and to rescue the miners from the depths.
After 69 days trapped underground, all 33 men were brought safely to the surface on 13thOctober, 2010, by a winching operation that lasted nearly 24 hours. All 33 miners were rescued, almost all in good medical condition with no long-term physical effects anticipated.
If God could keep those trapped underground for 69 days, how much more you on the surface of the earth? Keep your hope alive. You can’t die until your miracle manifest. Help is on the way!
Quote: If you will not give up, you will overcome.
Prophetic Word: Supernatural help from the four corners of the earth shall embarrass your destiny, in Jesus name.
Prayer Point:
- Faith and hope killers, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
- Holy Spirit of God, rekindle my hope, help me to see the light beyond my dark tunnel, in the name of Jesus.
