Bible Reading: Mark 11: 22 – 24
Memory Verse: Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23 (WEB)
Faith is an act whereby a person lay hold of God’s resources, becomes obedient to what He says, and puts aside all self interest and self-reliance as he trusts Him completely. It is the surrender of the whole of one’s being in dependence upon God. It is wholly trusting and relying upon Him for all things. It is not just a mental assent to the facts and realities of truth, it must come from a deep inner conviction because even the devil also believe (James 2:19).
YOUR FAITH CAN MOVE THE MOUNTAIN OF:
1. Sickness: The Centurion told Jesus not to come to his house but rather speak a Word. Right about then, the mountain of sickness tormenting his servant became plain (Matthew 8: 5-13).
2. Persecution: You need to probably watch some videos of how many of the martyrs died for their Christian faith. Vibia Perpetua & Felicitas had just given birth. Felicitas gave birth while in prison and Perpetua was just breastfeeding her infant son when they both gave up their roles as mothers to be martyred for their faith. A faith that cost you nothing will not deliver anything tangible to you on the judgement day. Furthermore, the testimony is told of the Moravian brothers who sold themselves as slaves because that was the only way they could have taken the gospel to the country of France. This is the kind of faith the Patriarchs handed over to us.
