Bible Reading:  Philippians 3: 13-14

Memory VerseBut the LORD says, “Do not cling to events of the past or dwell on what happened long ago. Isaiah 43:18 (GNT)

It is often said that to err is human and to forgive is divine. Jesus in John 8:7 (AMP) said, “…He who is without [any] sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” Then, you must not allow your mistakes to define you. Like failure, your mistakes are just an event, it shouldn’t change or negate who the Bible says you are. That is your true definition.

A man went to his farm to harvest some fruits. He kept a chunk in a container with an open lid at his back. Mistakenly, one of the fruits on his hands fell to the ground but he couldn’t let go. As he tried to pick it up, the entire fruit on his back poured to the ground. This is a similitude to what happens to many of us. We brood over the errors and mistakes of yesterday that until we are robbed of all the good things in store for our lives today. We allow our momentary pain to erase our gain. We focus too much on our mistakes until we see nothing good in ourselves, or our steadily growing accomplishment, or in our potentials. We seem to be tight fisted, holding on to the mistakes of our past, but we fail to admire the miraculous lining running through our hands.

Why focus on the errors you’ve made, forgetting the numerous other accomplishments you’ve also made, or that you are making. Don’t allow your errors become a blind spot. Like it or not, you will make mistakes. Your prayers should be that the good Lord will deliver you from the mistakes that will cost our destiny and rubbish God’s perfect plan for your life. However, some errors/mistakes are inevitable. Practice makes perfect. If you are not ready to crawl, then you are not ready to walk. Shake off such errors, and move on. In the same vein, in the process of pushing yourself in order to attain excellence, please be careful not to dwell too much on the little and often negligible errors. Learn to laugh off such mistakes.

For a perfect state of mind, some people may need to restitute. Restitute if need be in order to free yourself from guilt and condemnation. Take note: RESTITUTION MUST BE DONE UNDER THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE GUARDIAN OF A MAN/WOMAN OF WISDOM. Finally, know for sure that God can restore. Could there be anything you might have lost because of the mistakes done yesterday, God, who is full of mercy and grace can still restore (Joel 2:25).

Quote: Appreciate your mistakes for what they are and learn from them. Above all, don’t forget to move on.

Prophetic Decree:  I break the cord tying your mind back to your past errors, in Jesus name.
