Bible Reading: Romans 12: 19-21

Memory VerseDon’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.  Romans 12:21 (NLT)

Do you know it is possible to lock yourself in the prison of your own heart and throw the keys away, yet you are sincerely busy looking for the keys. Brethren, it is possible to suffer from self-imposed affliction. There lived a sister who preserved herself for the Lord as a virgin.

A brother came into her life, married her, and divorced her. For good 25 years she couldn’t let go of this brother in her heart. Day and night, she kept saying, “O Lord, kill him”, “O Lord, destroy him”, “O Lord, let him run dry”.

Unfortunately, the more she cursed the brother, the more the brother kept expanding, flourishing and making progress. No, she was wrong. She was the one bound. Bound in unforgiveness, pain, jilt, bitterness, resentment, and guilt. Baalzebub, the lord of the flies was daily feasting on her soul.

Too bad, she couldn’t come to a place of forgiveness until after 25 years. Then, she finally said, “I forgive him”. As soon as she forgave, the brother died. Unforgiveness can tie down the vengeance of the Lord. Unforgiveness can tie down your long-awaited miracle.

Don’t be paranoid for the Lord. You are not the advocate, Jesus is! Romans 12:19 (TPT), “Beloved, don’t be obsessed with taking revenge, but leave that to God’s righteous justice. For the Scriptures say: “Vengeance is mine, and I will repay,” says the Lord.”

What are you holding back from the Lord? What seems impossible to give up? What has your parents, ex-wife, ex-husband, former engaged partner, child, best friend, etc, done that seems unforgivable. Beloved, holding back in unforgiveness may hinder you from the best of God in the remaining part of your life.

Let it go. Some people were jilted many years ago and now they have concluded that all men are the same only to come across a message like this when they have passed menopause stage. Unforgiveness can waste a destiny. Let me show a deep secret: Get a gift and go give the person that hurt you.

Do that repeatedly over a period until the stronghold of unforgiveness break. That’s what wise people do. It is a hard process, but it will redeem your spirit, sanitize your soul and your health.

Quote:  Let God fight for you.

Prophetic Decree:  Let the stronghold of unforgiveness and bitterness shatter to pieces, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. I receive grace to forgive, in Jesus name.

2. I receive grace to let go of my pain, in Jesus name.

3. I receive grace to hand over my past worries unto the Lord.

4. I receive grace to forgive those who did me wrong, in Jesus name.

5. I receive grace to abound in greater grace, in Jesus name.
