Bible Reading: Psalm 139: 13-14
Memory Verse: I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14 (NIV)
Other habits to be avoided in the New Year include:
3. Time Wastage On The Internet (Ephesians 5:16):What is meant to make life easy has turned many to a puppet. Many are now slaves to their internet enabled phones spending several hours jumping from one social media app to another gisting and exchanging words about people that don’t even know they exist. Are you aware that your internet enabled phone can become a money-making tool for you? Someone said, “If you have a laptop or smartphone and data, you have only yourself to blame if you stay poor. There are too many ways you could be making money with what you have. You can code, YouTube, Fiverr, day trade and remote work. You are not unemployed. You’re uninformed!”. Be wise. With a single click on the internet, you can reach the world for Christ in evangelism and earn yourself also some LEGITIMATE money.
4. Negative Emotions (Galatians 5: 16-21): It is too bad when you carry the catalogue of last year’s pain into this New Year. That bitterness, anger, hatred, resentment, malice, etc., must die. Why should you continue to feed yourself with poison and expect another person to die? That’s what negative emotions does to you. To make matters worse, some people are angry with those who have spiritual authority over them. How then do you get blessed? Can’t you discern that the devil was the one who triggered your helpers against you. Die to all forms of negative emotions. You do yourself more harm than good when you don’t let go. You mustn’t win every fight.
5. Negative Self Image (Psalm 139:4):Perhaps you once had an abusive guardian, parent or spouse. Perhaps all did not go well with you last year. Perhaps you have failed again and again in your journey in life. Perhaps the only name your parents ever called you was, “stupid”, “useless”, “you will never amount to anything”, “you are a mistake’, etc. Really, those words sometimes hunt in the journey of destiny. But don’t forget your New Creation realities: YOU ARE WHO THE SCRIPTURES SAYS YOU ARE. Furthermore, those who body shame themselves are not wise. Be at peace with yourself. You are the best image of God.
Quote: A habit you do not confront, you may never conquer.
Prophetic Decree: I break the stronghold of any bad habit in your life, in Jesus’ name.
