Bible Reading: Galatians 5: 16-26, Hebrews 12:4, Proverbs 11:9, 

Memory Verse: But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts]. Galatians 5:16 (AMP)

Luke 10:19 (KJV) says, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Take note of the phrase, ‘power of the enemy.’  That means the devil has got a measure of power. However, there is a higher power that is greater than that of the devil – the power of God – which God has bestowed unto us and it is capable of overcoming the power of the enemy. You don’t overestimate the power of the devil as it is unconsciously done in certain quarters, and at the same time, you don’t underestimate him, letting loose of your guard.

We preach balance! One way to silence the devil is to daily die to the flesh. Apostle Paul cried out, “I die daily” (1 Cor. 15:31). Have you wondered why some certain people have remained a perpetual candidate of deliverance? It is because of this same reason – the flesh has remained very active in their lives. That reminds of the testimony shared by one of our fathers of faith. He said there was a man who had a Ph.D. in Accountancy.  That’s incredible. Unfortunately, live cockroaches can be seen coming out of his head. He came for prayers and thereafter God delivered him.

But a demon spirit spoke through him during the course of the deliverance saying, “Surely they shall be back because he is a chronic drunkard.” Dearly beloved, few weeks after his deliverance, he was back again with the same problem. He refused to shut the door of drunkenness against the enemy, hence giving a legal ground for the reinforcement of the same demon spirit. Perhaps if you had died to talkativeness and gossip you could have had your last suitor emerge as your husband today.

Until you die to masturbation and pornography, you may not be baptised with the Holy Ghost and power.  Work on your weaknesses by the enabling power of the Holy Spirit.

Sober Reflection: What am I doing that is reversing the clock of my life? Could it be truancy, excessive addiction to the social media, inability to sit down and study, addiction to drugs, procrastination, dirtiness, etc. Make up your mind with the help of the Holy Ghost to die to such today. 

N.B: As powerful as prayer, fasting, prophetic seed sowing, and other sacrificial kingdom service are, they can never substitute for taking personal responsibility in partnership with the Holy Spirit.

Prophetic Decree:  Receive spiritual energy to rule over sin, self and the world lurking in your mortal bodies, in Jesus name. 

Prayer Focus 

1. My Father, have mercy in the area of my weaknesses today, in Jesus name. 

2. I receive divine enablement to be brutal with every work of the flesh in my life, in Jesus name.

3. Holy Spirit, please perform a corrective surgery of every wrong appetite in my life today, in Jesus name. 

4. Henceforth, the Holy Spirit shall reign over my flesh, in Jesus name. 

5. I command dominion over all my fleshly weaknesses and demonic appetite for sin, self and worldliness, in Jesus name.
