Bible Reading: Ephesians 6: 1-3
Memory Verse: If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.” Ephesians 6:3 (NLT)
Dr. Margaret E. Benson-Idahosa said: When Archbishop Benson Idahosa passed on to Glory, the Benson Idahosa University was just birthed and I met 42,000 naira ($65) in his account. That was all that was left for me. But he (Bishop David Oyedepo) took it upon himself for 2 years, he was paying all the professors, all the teachers. At the end of the month, he will fly in with the money. Who would do that? If not a person that is convinced and has confidence in us, and in the ministry. He did it, nobody knows it. He does it quietly and go.
Furthermore, Kunle Soriyan speaking about John Obidi, a young international speaker said: It is a special thing; and it’s not in anything mundane. Becoming a father with a transgenerational voice is being able to give, serve and demonstrate honour as a youth. Yes, it is dutiful when fathers give to their sons and daughters. They say, “When a father gives to his child, they both laugh; but when the child gives to his father, they both cry.” A perfect father will never be born, and neither will a perfect son or daughter. How we deal with our strengths is not defining; our moments are marked for greatness when we learn to be gentle and wise in beholding the imperfections around us.
We secure a special place of authority and power in the future when we learn the wisdom of honoring imperfect entities who went ahead of us. This is wisdom and the critical difference in the destinies of the sons of Noah. The 2000s is defining an era where to be silly, judgmental, disrespectful & dishonoring are cool tools for gaining popularity and traction. Our realities are so upside down, that we see 6 as 9, and 9 as 6. You must choose to be different with visible grace and it’s sure will fashion an unprecedented weight of glory for you.
My addition: You don’t choose your father, you discover him. Either spiritual or biological, irrespective of their past mistakes and weaknesses, honour your parent. A perfect father does not exist. This is one of the cheapest path to continuous increase.
Quote: Despite their obvious weaknesses, honour your Parents.
Prophetic Decree: May the Lord make a legend out of your life by the virtue of honour, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus
1. Thank you Father for teaching me a cheap way out of stagnation and retrogression.
2. I receive grace to honour my parents, in Jesus name.
3. Any wall of partition between my parents and I, break by fire, in Jesus name.
4. I rebuke powers that turn children against their parents, in Jesus name.
5. I come against demons responsible for disharmony in homes, in Jesus name.
